The Intel® Server Compute Module provides the processing and I/O power behind the Intel® Modular Server with support for up to two Intel® Xeon® processors
(up to six modules can be deployed).
The compute module is entirely diskless and connects to the virtualized shared storage allowing a flexible server configuration.

The Intel® Storage Controller virtualizes the integrated shared storage through a SAN fabric that connects the compute modules to the 14 2.5-inch SAS drives.
The Intel® Modular Server system includes a storage controller with a redundant option available.

The Intel® Management Module provides a virtual presence GUI for managing the entire Intel® Modular Server system.
It allows in-band and out-of-band management of the compute modules, integrated shared storage, and ethernet switch.
